Trends in Higher Education


Total financial aid per full-time equivalent (FTE) graduate student increased 39%, from $16,222 (in 2008 dollars) in 1998-99 to $22,475 in 2008-09. Nonfederal loans grew rapidly until 2005-06, but by 2008-09 had declined to approximately their 1998-99 level.
